CLINICAL INNOVATION & RESEARCH INSTITUTE
The Clinical Innovation & Research Institute (CIRI) facilitates the promotion and establishment of collaborative relationships between Memorial Hermann Health System, McGovern Medical School, private practice clinics and the community. They foster collaborative partnerships between clinicians, academicians, industry and public sectors to conduct and produce meaningful, quality research to benefit society.

NEURORECOVERY RESEARCH CENTER
The NeuroRecovery Research Center (NRRC) forms the umbrella for seven independent laboratories at TIRR Memorial Hermann that collaborate on basic science studies and clinical trials. Research under way at the NRRC is supported by the National Institutes of Health; Memorial Hermann Foundation; Mission Connect, a project of TIRR Foundation; TIRR Memorial Hermann; and McGovern Medical School at UT Health.
BRAIN INJURY RESEARCH
The Brain Injury Research Center (BIRC) brings together world-renowned investigators to study the complicated facets of recovery from brain injury.
THE SPINAL CORD INJURY AND DISABILITY RESEARCH CENTER (SCIDR)
It is to improve functional recovery, health and quality of life for individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) and other physical disabilities.It conducts investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored studies, including local studies, multicentre studies and clinical trials of individuals of all ages with SCI and physical disability.
CENTER FOR RESEARCH ON WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES
The Center for Research on Women with Disabilities (CROWD) was established in 1993 in the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine. The formation was inspired by the outpouring of support from women with disabilities around the nation in response to the announcement of the first federally funded study of women’s issues.
INDEPENDENT LIVING RESEARCH UTILIZATION
A good rehabilitation program should provide the comprehensive resources necessary to achieve an advanced level of independence once a patient is discharged. TIRR Memorial Hermann provides this vital support system through a program called Independent Living Research Utilization (ILRU), established in 1977.
