Working with students to create diverse learning opportunities

The Department of Service Learning & Community Affairs serves as the primary administrative link between the community and WUB's physicians-in-training. Consistent with the University’s desire to produce physicians with a lifelong commitment to community service, the department serves the following functions:

• Builds and maintains partnerships with community agencies
• Assists faculty members with incorporating service learning into existing courses
• Provides students with credited opportunities which help with their professional interests and to understand their duty to society as a physician.
• It assists students with choosing from a wide variety of extracurricular activities in many organizations. These activities teach students about the health needs of Barbadians.
